Bushcraft 101: A Field Guide to the Art of Wilderness Survival by Dave Canterbury

Picked this up today. Written by Dave Canterbury. Say what you want to about ole' Dave, but the dude is a nightmarish Beast Infection when it comes to anything WOODS.  I'll take his advice any day of the week. I mean come on, who wouldn't take advice from a guy who knapped an arrowhead out of an old beer bottle, used aforementioned knapped glass arrowhead to attach to an handmade arrow, that was then used in a made on the fly bow to kill a wild turkey so he'd have fresh meat for the evening? Based on the 5Cs of Survivability--cutting tools, covering, combustion devices, containers, and cordages--this valuable guide offers only the most important survival skills to help you craft resources from your surroundings and truly experience the beauty and thrill of the wilderness.

The dude has his shit together. Bet on it.

Like I say, brush up or get mopped up. Your call.

Thanks fro the link to purchase it. From the reviews I 've read about it, the reviewers thought that too much information was covered in this single book - should have broken down into several books, giving more in depth information. Also, they mentioned more pictures of the content would have helped make things clearer. I haven't read the book so have no way to confirm this.

I really enjoy Dave's videos, its amazing to see how he uses his ingenuity to build a tool that takes care of his needs IN THE FIELD. I like his attitude that Bushcraft doesn't mean you have to use only primitive technologies to make yourself comfortable - take a BIC lighter for crying out loud, don't need to be rubbing sticks and getting worked up about it. Dave Canterbury is an awesome resource to have to learn from.

Thanks again for the link.
