Woman's construction woes lead to standoff with Harris County deputies

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- Deputy constables surrounded the home after an armed woman who complained of on-going construction near her Channelview-area home, officials said Thursday afternoon.

The standoff began around noon Thursday in the 200 block of Lakeside Drive in east Harris County.
"I knew she was going to be on the news eventually," said neighbor Ralph King.

Views from Air 11 showed the woman, identified by neighbors as Eleoise Adcock, on her back porch with a shotgun for more than an hour.

Precinct 3 deputy constables surrounded the home. They said at one point the woman pointed her gun at workers and then at the first deputy on the scene. And it wasn't the first time. Construction workers told deputies she'd pointed the gun at them before.

"She's hard to get along with," said King. "It's her way or no way."

Oh my God, the horror of an old woman sitting outside on private property displaying a firearm! Of course she pointed it at someone "THEY SAID"...
