Officials scout San Antonio as possible home for Raiders

SAN ANTONIO -- The city of San Antonio is taking another chance at landing a professional football team in the 21-year-old Alamodome.

Multiple city leaders told KENS 5 that executives from the Oakland Raiders have been in San Antonio to discuss moving the team to South Texas.

In a statement released to KENS 5 Tuesday, City Manager Sheryl Sculley said:
"Oakland Raiders officials were in San Antonio in July to attend the Prairie View Interscholastic League Hall of Fame induction of Cliff Branch and met with community representatives regarding the possible use of the Alamodome for future NFL games and potential relocation of the Oakland Raiders from Oakland, California to San Antonio. These discussions are in a very preliminary stage."

Great. Another losing team in Texas. Just what we need.

I was born in Oakland the same year they became a professional team and have suffered through thick and thin as a fan ever since.
When they moved to LA I was heart broken. If the motherfuckers move to Texas I will be done with them.

Don't be so hard on your team man. They all have growing pains. Dallas and Houston ain't much better in late season play either.

Stevieray, if they went to SA, could we then have an official Texas Triangle of Losing Teams?

have given up on pro football in general..JJ screwed up the cowboys, the last straw for me was when he signed terrible owens. We can't support a pro team here in SA. we are just bargaining fodder.

Randy, they wouldn't ever be able to compete with the Spurs. It'd be a lost cause. The last time I was down there at the Alamo I remembered why I've never wanted to move to SA as well.
