Marine-Tested Camouflage Tricks That Will Keep You Alive

Camouflaging is one of the most important skills in the animal kingdom. All sorts of critters employ camo as a technique, from reptiles to moths.

They can blend in, totally disappear and avoid predators without having to be fast. Some predators use their own camo to take prey. These predators don’t have to be fast or strong; they just have to be a little bit smarter than their prey.

I am a huge fan of utilizing dead space as well as good camo to get closer to game when I hunt. I was taught how to stalk hunt before I was ever put on a stand as a boy. Sometimes, the game doesn't go where I think it should appear, so I go after it. The Stalk is why I do it. Blind hunting is easy.

Food Is Free Project

You folks know I'm all about growing your own food. I 'd like to share with you a great idea that was sparked in Austin Texas a few years ago. Keep those pallets and put them to use!

Food Is Free Project

The Food is Free Project(501c3 Nonprofit) grows community and food, while helping gain independence from a broken agricultural system.  The Food is Free Project is a community building and gardening movement that launched in January of 2012. We teach you how to connect with your neighbors and line your street with front yard community gardens which provide free harvests to anyone.

The gardens are built and offered for free using salvaged resources that would otherwise be headed to the landfill. By using drought-tolerant, wicking bed gardens, these low maintenance gardens only need to be watered every 2-4 weeks. This simple tool introduces people to a very easy method of growing organic food with very little work. A wide variety of vegetables along the block promote neighbors to interact and connect, strengthening our communities while empowering them to grow their own food.

It’s time we take back our food and meet our neighbors. Invite your friends to join the mission. Transform your own neighborhood by planting a community garden in your front yard.

Angry Beaver

Beaver knocks man out of kayak

ROCHESTER, NY (WHAM/CNN) - A beaver attacked a man who was getting a kayaking lesson.

Mike Cavanaugh's arms and back were bandaged after a beaver leaped out of the water just as Cavanaugh was getting in for a kayak lesson.

"It's just a freak thing. This beaver was upset about something and went after him," said Nate Reynolds, a kayak instructor who saw part of the attack happen.

Beavers... They get upset. I've been a lifelong member of NBHA (National Beaver Hunters Association) for a while now. Keep your guard up Gents, it's getting crazy out there.

HIPAA Anyone ?

Hospitals Spy on Your Purchases to Spot Bad Habits

You may soon get a call from your doctor if you’ve let your gym membership lapse, made a habit of picking up candy bars at the check-out counter or begin shopping at plus-sized stores.

That’s because some hospitals are starting to use detailed consumer data to create profiles on current and potential patients to identify those most likely to get sick, so the hospitals can intervene before they do.

More at link above.

The HIPAA Privacy Rule establishes national standards to protect individuals’ medical records and other personal health information and applies to health plans, health care clearinghouses, and those health care providers that conduct certain health care transactions electronically.  The Rule requires appropriate safeguards to protect the privacy of personal health information, and sets limits and conditions on the uses and disclosures that may be made of such information without patient authorization. The Rule also gives patients rights over their health information, including rights to examine and obtain a copy of their health records, and to request corrections.

With that being said, we can end that spying shit by paying cash. How's that for "privacy"?

Oh wait, that's right! You're a suspicious person if you pay with cash for anything. Obviously printing barge loads of fiat cash is cool, but you better not use any of that fiat cash to buy anything.

Pattern rationalization anyone? Am I reaching that brain of yours yet? Ground control to Major Tom...

So here's the summary: We eat unhealthy food, the production of which is regulated by the government, which has been genetically modified, intentionally treated and/or processed with chemicals, antibiotics, steroids, preservatives, pesticides and herbicides, we get sick, and then we rely on expensive medical care and drugs to treat our symptoms. Now we have practitioners who inject your algorithm into the mystery machine to let them know when you buy a pack of smokes, miss your gym time, or go eat that 12,000 calorie burger and have a few cold Teddy Brewski's with the boys. Then, to top it all off, we scream and wail over health care reform. And that will ultimately be provided by whom again?

Be sure and tip your waitstaff, I'll be here all afternoon...

If you've had the Anthrax Vaccine series, get paid for it

Get paid up to $900 if you’ve had the Anthrax vaccine series.

Then there was this the other day...

Good reason enough I guess to go donate as well. Looks like I could fund a new rifle build in a month or two. I'm really in need of that Moszilla from Teludyne Tech.

Operation Zero Footprint

I admire retired Lt. Colonel Allen West's insane amount of testicular fortitude. Go read his latest.

You can't make this shit up...

The following was sent to me and in turn I will do my civic duty and widen its reach.
It is very detailed research and I will leave it to you to draw your own conclusion. But I will tell you this, it reads better than any spy thriller Hollywood could cook up. You will be amazed at the tangled web.

Oh No! Not the Banquet Beer!

Firefighters battling fire at Longview Coors facility

Story at link

I'd imagine a few beers were lost....

Don't you think this Traitor bit has gotten out of hand?

So I'm cruising Military Times and run across this gagglefuckery of ideas... Ho Lee Fuk, does my blood boileth over at this current moment in time...

Hollywood has interest in the Traitor's story

Pretty sure I didn't see any mention of Marine Corporal Kyle Carpenter or Army SSGT Ryan Pitts getting interest generated in their stories from Hollywood to do a movie. Not that the above aforementioned men with giant titanium gilded balls and character of Grit and Granite had anything special about their stories at all...Nope...Nothing. I mean it's not like they abandoned their posts, got on their knees to worship the Allah wang for 5 years, and gave our enemy critical Intel that increased attacks around the post they abandoned right? So why reward pussification? Damage control at it's finest is why. These people show us their colors every day. Believe them when they tell you who they are and what team they cheer for.

The celebration of Beta males makes me sick to my stomach. Most of the time, it's Beta's that celebrate other Beta's sub-par behavior.

Don't be that weak Beta.

Texas Dumps State Inspection Sticker

Texas dumps state inspection sticker for single tag

(HOUSTON) – The view outside your car’s windshield is about to get larger as Texas adopts a single sticker for both state vehicle registration and inspection.

The second sticker will be eliminated beginning March 2015, after the Texas Legislature passed the new policy to combat fraudulent window stickers.

This tells me that the Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cruisers and cameras are going to be everywhere they are not already. Yes, they are reading and cross checking your plates for any warrants, proof of insurance, wanted bulletins, stolen vehicles, "aggressive" attack Yorkies and Schnauzers, kidnapped children, missed child support payments, raw milk and honey production without FDA approval, political dissent, lemonade stands, and more. They are also storing the data they collect for years, creating vast warehouses of information, including the exact time and location of vehicles scanned, that can be mapped, searched and data-mined. This allows them to build a data-web on your movements, habits, and frequented locations. If you're not breaking any laws and have committed no crimes, why do they need this data on you? There’s little doubt that the license plate readers could help law enforcement with critical duties, but we all know what can help nab a fugitive or recover a stolen vehicle can also be used to conduct mass surveillance or target political dissidents. Yep, there's the money shot...

Oh, you don't like the local Judiciary crowd, and have had the nerve to meet up with other folks of like mind to exercise your right to free speech and discuss your distaste in the judiciary's performances? Guess what? They've had the ability to pattern your movements and they know where you're meeting your buddies at to be a "terrorist minded" little dissident, even if you may be a Veteran, NRA Certified instructor, or local Preacher. Yep, they don't care who you are.

Don't say you didn't know that they were logging everything on you to be used against you in a court of "Law" when you finally do get cuffed up for something petty when I told you so here...

Interesting page views

I thought the Interwebz were illegal over there in the litter box. So, someone is apparently using proxy tools to come see The Bearded Backyarder. That'll get you 10 years and 40 lashings Abdullah. Allah is displeased with your infidel ways, you sand flea infested dogs. I make homemade wine, smoke cigarettes, curse Allah, gamble, and look at naked women. I've also got a mean knife-hand. So, either I'm a hit with the Gunny and his boys in country, or a Fatwa has been issued on my head by Barry and Co's private equity terrorism and venture capitalist investment team. I ate bacon for breakfast and drizzled a little of the grease on my BCG too. I don't trust anyone who doesn't eat swine. Hey CAIR, get at me if you don't like it. If any of our Russian Comrades want to send in some hot pics of those Mail Order Russian Brides, I could get on board with that. Hook it up. Since I'm small potatoes in comparison to the rest of the Blogosphere, I figure it's probably key word searches that lead them here from other Countries, hell who knows...

Elaphe obsoleta lindheimeri

I was outside in the front yard Friday night and noticed a stick moving in the road. Because, you know, those damned moving sticks are incredibly noticeable.

This quite large Texas Rat Snake was captured and relocated to a more snake friendly environment. No, he was not dispatched into the afterlife by shovel or rifle. Any other hillbilly around these parts would have lopped his head off without thinking twice about it. I gave him a pass since they have incredible appetites for mice and rats. I don't mind the free pest control at all.

New horsepower for war zones: Special Forces saddle up

BRIDGEPORT, Calif. — The men emerged over the crest of a ridge and guided their horses along a tree line, skirting a wide meadow. They picked their way along narrow trails, climbing higher into the Sierra until a panorama of snow capped peaks and a broad green valley unfolded beneath them.

The men, Special Forces soldiers dressed in jeans and other civilian clothes, led their horses into a thick stand of pine trees, where they dismounted and let the horses drink from a clear mountain stream before breaking out their own rations.

Continue at link below:

No hitch in their giddy-up

I sure wish I could have ridden a horse when I was there for Cold Weather Survival and Mountain Warfare Training. I doubt these hard charging SpecOps cats have to fabricate a snow cave and rack out with their horses either. Don't forget your candles...

Friday's fun fact

Hmmm, now I wonder why that may be?

Surely, it has nothing to do with this right?

Monsanto aluminum resistant seed patent

Or this either right?

Welsbach Cloud Seeding patent

For sure looks like "jet exhaust" right? Now I don't know about you, but I don't walk around with my head down not paying attention to what's going on around me. I'm always observing and tracking patterns. I see this stuff all of the time. That's my picture above. Weather warfare is very real. DuPont and Dow ring a bell? Chemical defoliant spray aka Agent Orange in Vietnam ring a bell?

Because, you know, our Power Broker Overlords would never do anything to us like that would they?

Two years of investigation were reported in the Lancet in 1991 using an aluminum chelating agent, desferrioxamine, to slow the progress of Alzheimer's disease.

Deaths from Alzheimer's increased 68 percent between 2000 and 2010, while deaths from other major diseases decreased.

Alzheimer's disease is the only cause of death among the top 10 in America that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed.

If you believe that it can't be cured, keep believing what you want. I can lead a horse to water, but I cannot make it think.

Somebody is lying

Now, I'm not a Columbo Jr or anything, but something smells rotten in Denmark and denial ain't just a river in Egypt baby...

This shit was pounded down the throat of anyone who disagreed with the anti-war groupies that hated Bush and ran him down every chance they got. I can't say I cared too much for the dude either, but at least he had the testicular fortitude to go and try do something about it. These weapons have Ronald Reagan's authorization signature on them with a delivery confirmation signed by Ollie North. Bet on that.

Then, I see and read this shit...

Iraq crisis: Isis jihadists seize Saddam Hussein's chemical weapons stockpile

I'll define WMD for you : A "weapon of mass destruction" (WMD or WoMD) is a nuclear, radiological, biological, chemical or other weapon that can kill and bring significant harm to a large number of humans or cause great damage to man-made structures (e.g. buildings), natural structures (e.g. mountains), or the biosphere.

I'd say what these sand flea haji's got a hold of more than qualifies.

And to top it off, these haji's have looted banks for cash around Iraq and have approximately 429 million dollars. Yep, you read that right. 429 MILLION!

So much for seizing all of those wire transfers out of country to stop the funding of Terrorism right?

So much for putting out ad campaigns telling people to stop buying pot from low level street dealers because it supports the Terrorists.

How's that Crow tasting right about now you psychotic lying bastards?

Sooooooooooo, after all these years, HE DID HAVE A CHEMICAL WEAPONS STOCKPILE?

Global War on Terror right?

I know who the terrorists are, and it ain't you and me...

Of peace and stuff...

It won't be long now... They've already told us they'd see us in New York again. We've been releasing them in pro-terrorism countries, who support their Jihad networks and tell us they don't, all while taking our "US Aid" in the form of weapons and tanks. Keep believing our best interests are at heart if you want to...

Somehow they aren't expected to return to their trades since they were psychologically profiled before their release and showed no intent to cause any more harm to innocent people? Boy, they sure do seem like good little terrorists now don't they? All reformed and shit... The only cure for these acute lead deficiency plagued sand fleas is administered from the barrel of a rifle. Remember Zombieland rule #2 - The double-tap.

The ROE's probably say now we've got to try and hug it out first, even if we see them with a rifle or one of the MANPAD's "that came up missing" strapped to their backs. We should be more understanding of their plight is what I've been told. I just hope they are as understanding about windage and elevation as I am when they finally decide to bring their Jihad to our doorstep, without Al-Ciaduh help.

Well that didn't take long

 Border Letter

From Governor Perry’s press release:
“The responsibility for securing the border rests exclusively on the federal government. The federal government’s failure to secure the border has created an incentive for families to send their children on a dangerous, and sometimes fatal, journey. Until the federal government fulfills its duty, it falls on the State of Texas to address those obligations.”

Good on you Rick. Let's keep Texas's leading exporter record for the US since 2002 going.

We are under planned assault

Texas Border Chaos

El tren de la muerte

I'm not one to get political too often because I know it's all bullshit, and the game is rigged. I have an uncanny ability to smell an ambush on the horizon. You cannot tell me for one second that this isn't a setup by the power brokers to see how Gov Goodhair is going to react. Either you accept the Federal goodies like a good little groveling bitch Rick, or we will force you to beg for it whether you like it or not. This is all by design and I'd say the bastards are getting ready to go ahead and shore up their votes for the 2016 National elections.... Those are already determined as well, but hey, why not go for a little extra padding while you can right? There will be no republican or tea party voting block that can make a difference against these handout loving communist scum who'd prefer to see folks like you and me shot behind the ear and kicked over in a ditch. The illegals are not only Latinos, but they've got a mix of many other nationalities with known terror ties trying to get into the US via Texas as well. Order out of Chaos is the name of the game. Oh please, someone from the Government swoop in and save us, you know, for the safety of the children and shit. Or, do they prefer we send our kids to schools with diseased immigrants that carry shit that you can't wash off in the bathtub?

Illegal immigration is called Illegal for a reason, so save me all of the PC shit. I know for sure if I did something "illegal" and it was known by Barney Fife that it was illegal, they wouldn't be able to get me in handcuffs fast enough to show me how criminal I am. Hypocrisy at it's finest...

*** They are now arriving at a rate of more than 35,000 a month*** Let that sink in.

Where in the hell are they supposed to go?

They won't find any quarter here...

Back at it again

We had an awesome trip full of sensory overload. The aesthetics of the places we visited will be imprinted on my upper receiver group for life. I have found a few new places I'd love to live one day. The little community of Wimberly Texas has much to offer if you're ever thinking about getting away for a stretch.

Behold the awesomeness of small town Texas...

Our little swimming hole was the best spot on the river. Water was near high 60's and moving very slow. The shelf that comes out in it provided many small fish and larger catfish a safe haven. They were plentiful.

Perfect for the Bearded Backyarder right?

Knapped Obsidian Blade with Deer Antler Handle

Knapped Agate Blade with Coyote Jawbone Handle

We were able to finish off two gallons of Strawberry Blonde. It generated some interesting convo to say the least...

I'm not real sure what kind of spider this guy was and don't care. I almost walked into the thing on a midnight walkabout. Nothing on Earth can make a grown man bust out in random dance moves faster than a spider. I don't care how tough you think you are, this is serious business!

I am fascinated by these animals because I stalk, kill, and eat them during Deer season every year. I was able to get very close which is not what I'm used to without a rifle in hand.

A couple of Bucks laid up in the shade....

If Heaven is your thing, here's where you'll find a slice of it...

A little midnight tight line action with blood bait.

Best Burgers in San Marcos Texas, hands down...

We even made it to a Zipline course. It's been years since I've been in a harness and it felt good to get back to doing something I'm familiar with. I wish they would have offered a rappelling course or something like it. I've been known to nose dive off platforms face first and pull brake at the last second.... Good times.

Prunus Persica

I missed my trimming time this year which resulted in smaller peaches by the boatload. With peach trees, is it important to maintain your spring pruning schedule every year, in order to get the tree to produce the larger size of peaches that people normally go for. Overcrowding will cause small fruit every time. It's all good though. Next year I'll get it right. It turned out some good looking fruit, just a bit small...

I think these things would be better suited for sling shot ammo than eating!

All jokes aside, we are planning to can a mess of peach preserves to go in the pantry. Bring on the buttered toast and biscuits!

Here's a fun fact: Prunus persica refers to Persia (present Iran), from where it came to Europe. However, genetic studies suggest that peaches originated in China...

I Juan to tissue something carnale

This is for my Construction folks... The people who build things.

How to deal with the spineless communist bootlickers who desperately seek the favor and goodwill of their Socialist masters in servile and degraded ways....

I prefer a swift right head kick myself.... Frag out, BOOM!

I got this handled

There will be copious amounts of consumption later on this week with family and friends. I have two gallons of Strawberry Blonde ready to go, and I'll be racking 6 gallons this week before we leave.

Is there anything better than a few days of throwing washers, smoking meat, and sipping homemade wine with your kin in the cool river waters? I think not...

Out late in the moonlight with clothes is optional, so please bare with me... :)

3 days away, so my attention span is limited this week... But, I promise I'll try to give you guys a few posts before I depart.
